At 5:36 on June 14th, after receiving the call, Station Chief Zhong Wuping of the Urban Power Supply Station immediately led the distribution room technicians to Ruijin International Hotel with tools and equipment.
Due to the continuous heavy rain last night, the Mianjiang River in Ruijin City surged rapidly, exceeding the warning level by meters, causing damage to multiple power facilities, resulting in a large-scale power outage in the urban area. Repair calls came in one after another, and they had not slept all night.
The rain was still drizzling, and the water on the road in front of the Urban Power Supply Station had reached waist level, making it impossible to drive the repair vehicle. To reach the site as soon as possible, everyone had to wade through the water on foot wearing raincoats. At 6:10, they finally arrived at the scene. After ruling out the risk of electric shock from wading, under the guidance of the hotel staff, Station Chief Zhong Wuping and the distribution room technicians entered the basement. The turbid rainwater had reached knee level, and the lighting was dim, so they could only check the situation by the light of flashlights. Looking around, the distribution room was already surrounded by floodwater, making it impossible to assess the extent of equipment damage. They had to ask the hotel staff on site to quickly bring in a generator to pump out the water before proceeding with repairs.
At 9 a.m. the next day, the hotel staff called to inform that the basement water had receded. To quickly identify the cause of the fault, Station Chief Zhong Wuping invited a testing team equipment inspection specialist to accompany them. After a comprehensive on-site survey, they found that the high-voltage switchgear had been flooded and broken down, and multiple cables were soaked with insulation burned. Given the severe damage to the high-voltage switchgear and cables, replacing everything would be a time-consuming and labor-intensive project. Seeing the worried look on the hotel manager's face, Station Chief Zhong Wuping made a prompt decision: "This place has dual power supply. Connect it to the bypass switch to restore power first!"

Thank you for your hard work on the front line!" said the manager of Ruijin International Hotel when presenting a banner to the Urban Power Supply Station.
