The power switch is located between the body and the head. Rotate it 90 degrees in any direction; a "click" sound indicates the power is on, and rotating it back turns it off. Before use, insert the grounding wire into the tail, turn on the power, the green light will illuminate, and when the red light comes on (about 3-5 seconds), you can test the lightning counter through the head's telescopic conductive rod (which can be extended before powering on according to the counter's installation height). Repeated testing can be done without turning off the power (the conductive rod should be removed from the test object each time it charges).
